Following key regulations and standards will be applicable soon in the next six months:
1. EU - EU has approved Commission Delegated Regulation to amend Annex I to POPs Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 by adding dicofol. The amendment shall enter into force on 7 September 2020. (link)
2. EU - EU will apply REACH Annex XVII Entry 72 restrictions on certain CMR substances in textile products and footwear after 1 November 2020. (link)
3. EU - According to the Waste Framework Directive (Directive 2008/98/EC), information on articles containing SVHCs (on the Candidate List) in a concentration above 0.1 % w/w placed on the EU market needs to be notified by EU suppliers to ECHA (SCIP notification), from 5 January 2021. (link)
4. US Maryland - US Maryland¡¯s restriction on flame retardants in juvenile products, upholstered furniture and mattresses has becomes law. It shall take effect on 1 January 2021. The state¡¯s Department of Health shall adopt regulations to enforce the law by 1 June 2021. (link)
5. US New York - US New York State has signed bill to set out the requirements of Lead in children jewellery. Manufacturer shall not sell, or offer for sale, children jewellery that contain exceeding specific total lead content, unless the product contains the specific warning statement, from 1 January 2021.
